About Posit

Posit is a compact desktop widget that keeps notes floating on your desktop.

Public Windows and Linux downloads are coming soon. Posit currently stores notes locally; accounts, Google sign-in, and cross-device cloud sync are planned and are not available yet.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. Personal and business use are permitted. If you act for a business, you must have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

You are responsible for safeguarding access to your devices and any account and for activity you authorize. Account sharing is permitted where accounts are available, but people you authorize may view, change, export, or delete information. This does not override an external identity provider’s rules. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your content stays yours

You retain ownership of your content. You grant Hancode a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and display it only as needed to provide the features you choose, secure and back up the service, synchronize content where available, and carry out your instructions.

This permission does not allow us to sell your content or use it for advertising or AI training. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems, subject to the retention provisions in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload content, including information about other people. Hancode does not endorse user content. Local-only content is not uploaded merely because these Terms grant operational permission.

Acceptable use

Do not upload unlawful content or infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights. Do not use the service for exploitation, threats, harassment, fraud, or malware.

Do not access another person’s data without authorization, attack or disrupt infrastructure, evade security or usage limits, or run automation that materially degrades the service. Do not use these productivity tools as unrelated bulk file-hosting or distribution services. Ordinary personal and business use is allowed.

Limits and enforcement

We may apply reasonable storage, request, or other limits to protect availability and will communicate material limits affecting ordinary use.

Where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, or legal obligations, we may restrict access, remove content, or suspend or terminate an account. We will provide an explanation and a way to resolve an issue where practicable, unless that would create a risk or be legally prohibited.

Report abuse or contest an enforcement decision at the.hancode1@gmail.com. Reports should identify the issue without unnecessarily disclosing another person’s private content.

Availability and offline use

Features vary between products and platforms. Offline changes may not reach other devices until synchronization completes. Connectivity failures, software errors, and conflicting edits may delay synchronization or affect availability.

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep independent exports of important information. These precautions do not limit responsibilities or remedies that applicable law requires us to provide.

Free service and future features

The available services are currently free. Optional donations, paid features, storage upgrades, or other business models may be introduced later. Payment obligations will be presented separately before you agree to them.

These Terms do not authorize undisclosed advertising tracking or new uses of personal information. Announced or planned features are not a promise of availability on a particular date.

Ending use

You may stop using the service at any time. Contact us to request deletion of server-held information. Signing out alone does not delete an account, and uninstalling an app does not necessarily delete cloud data. Local copies and exports remain under your control.

If we discontinue a service, we will aim to give reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to export content, unless security, legal, or other urgent circumstances prevent this.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties beyond those required by law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Hancode is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or business opportunities, arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricts mandatory consumer rights. These provisions do not excuse Hancode from applicable privacy or security obligations.

Changes and resolving concerns

We may update these Terms with appropriate notice of material changes. Changes will not retroactively remove accrued rights. If you disagree, you may stop using the service and request deletion of your account where applicable.
